So we got our orders and will be PCS'ing (Permanent Change of Station) to Eglin Air Force Base near Pensacola, FL at the beginning of 2012. I was shocked when Tom came home with the news because we didn't think we'd find out until mid-August. He came home with this HUGE smile on his face and I just knew he had good news:) We'd been hoping for a base in Florida and when a list of possible bases came out last month and Eglin was on it we knew it was still a possibility. You see, the Air Force can't guarantee anything. We hope and pray that things will be as we'd like them to be, but at the end of the day the mission comes first.
However, I'm still reminded that the Air Force is not the one who is sending us. Yes, they gave Tom orders to England and now we're going to Florida, but God is sending us. As much as we may feel controlled by the military-jobs-families-circumstances, we must always remember that God is ultimately in control of our lives.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
