38 Week Appointment

So after experiencing false labor twice, I was really anxious to see how far dilated and effaced I was today at our 38 week appointment. (I was 1cm, 20% effaced, and at -2 station two weeks ago.) Turns out that I'm almost completely effaced and almost 2 cm dilated now!! Dr. Meldrum went ahead and stripped my membranes today. We then discussed the possibility of inducement. I was really hoping for tomorrow, but I'm just glad to have an END DATE. So we are currently planning on being induced early morning a week from today on the 8th. YAY!!!!! Dr. Meldrum, however, doesn't think that I will make it that long, which is great, but I'm also not going to get my hopes up. So here's to the known and the unknown. Woot!

Everything else with the appointment went really well. I only gained a pound since the last appointment, baby's heart rate was good (140s), my BP was 128/88, and my fundal height was 39 cm. Seems that all is right on track. Just more of this waiting game.

With William, I also had my membranes stripped at 38 weeks and he was born just a few days later. I'm hoping this happens for me again....I guess we'll just have to see!!
