We finally made the move to our new home in Ely. It's about a 30 minute drive from RAF Mildenhall depending on the traffic and trains. I still don't have any pictures for you although I've taken many. We will be working on getting Vonage and internet starting this next week. For now we have to continue using internet at the Bob Hope Center on Mildenhall for our internet access. We're still busy getting "in-processed." I have to study and get my driver's license over here and we're working to apply for WIC. Still waiting to get reimbursed for some of our travel expenses, but other than that...
Yesterday we received some furniture on loan from FMO to get us through since our stuff won't arrive for another month or two. BTW - A special thank you to my parents and especially my wonderful brother, Andy, for making sure all of our things were packed and taken by TMO this past Monday.
The house we are in is huge to us after living in what was essentially a one room apartment for a couple of months (thanks Mom and Dad!). It's a three bedroom with living room, laundry room, kitchen, dining room, 2 1/2 baths, and a play room for William. Wow! We feel REALLY blessed to have been given such a nice place to live. Plus it's rent free...we just don't get a housing allowance anymore. Even more than that, it's just great to have a home to make our own again.
Our neighbors, whom we share a wall with, are really nice people. They've offered to loan us some things as ours won't arrive for a while. They have two boys, 3 and 5, and a baby girl due in May. The mom stays at home and has also offered to take William and I with when she goes to the commisary (grocery store) for errands and shopping needs during the weeks. This is wonderful because we only have one vehicle at this point:)
God has been so good to us and blessed us in countless ways. We miss our family and friends, but you are all in our hearts and thoughts daily. We love you very much!
